Lancome GWP at Macy’s!

18 August, 2009

Yep, it’s their GWP time again! This is probably one of the most insane GWP’s I’ve seen them do, so you may want to pay attention.

This time, it’s all about choices. Your bag? You get to choose between red, black, and blue-a vinyl oval-shaped bag with a special Lancome print on it. It’s also got a handle, so it could double as a purse in a pinch. Your lipstick? Apparently you get to pick two. Yes, two. It does not say the shade names, however this is one that would be good as the lipsticks make great stocking stuffers. Your compact? You can choose between the ubiquitous eye quad…OR get a blush duo! The blush duo, unfortunately, has little stripes of blusher which to me are absolutely useless. However if you don’t need another eye quad, this is a good way to go!

You also can choose your “beauty essential” which is either the Nutrix¬†Royal body creme, or the Bifacil eye makeup remover. I like having the eye makeup remover handy, as I can get lazy about makeup removal sometimes…but the body cream is a good way to go if you don’t need any eye makeup remover. Sorry this is so late, but my latest ULTA ad came quite late, but here we are! First, before anything, there are two insane specials. The Foreshadow box (Oil Slick, Stray Dog, Midnight Cowboy, Flipside) is $14, and the Best of Urban: Baked set is $16. The cost of the shadow-and you get the glitter liner (full-size), and the two minis! (Yes, I did get it yesterday) I have heard rumours about the mini liner sets also being on special, but my ULTA didn’t have them. Also, they are now carrying the Shu Uemura eyelash curler, both the regular and the mini.

Anywhoo, the cover features one fun fragrance GWP: a free travel rolly-thingie with a $30 fragrance purchase, in your choice of black/white houndstooth, black, or black/hot pink houndstooth. I already have SO much luggage, however this is one thing that looks mighty interesting (although the GWP items occasionally go on clearance), so if I get extra money, or get this job I am going for, I may just have to get this. Inside, we have fragrance. Jessica Simpson has launched her new Fancy Love fragrance, and say what you want about her fashion (I don’t agree with some of her choices), she makes damn good perfumes. I tried it yesterday, and it’s different from the original Fancy because this is an oriental floral, no question. It says that it opens up with a note of pink champagne, but since I’ve never smelled champagne, I wouldn’t know. I almost said it was a pink pepper or something! The core of the fragrance is a luscious floral, where I definitely got the peony and the plumeria, and then the drydown is nice too. I hate the patchouli but surprisingly I didn’t get any with this. I did get woodiness and amber, but not an overwhelming patchouli. It lasted on my wrist for a good 12 hours, so this is a fragrance that I highly recommend. When you purchase the 3.4 EDP spray, you get a free purse to go with it. The 3.4 is $59, by the way. I normally won’t touch celebrity fragrances, but this one is worth it-and inexpensive, to boot. This starts next Friday, for the Anniversary sale, but I figured I would post these ASAP!

First up is the $90 value Lancome gift, yours free with a $29.50 purchase. The nice thing about Nordstrom gifts? Choices. As in, choose your colours. For that, you can choose your lipstick-Amande Sucree or Pink to the Club. The latter is one that I haven’t seen in GWP sets, so that may be the better choice. You also get an eyeshadow quad, which I believe has Daylight and then Bikini Golden, but I could be wrong. I’ll update it with the shades when I figure them out. You also get the requisite mini of Definicils, a BiFacil eyemakeup remover, and then Cream Radiance cleanser, plus your choice of Renergie Microlift R.A.R.E., or the High Resolution Anti-Wrinkle Cream. To top it all off, you get a tote in either red or blue, with black trim. If it looks familiar, it’s because it’s the exact same base design as the orange Macy’s GWP tote in 2007 (that I proudly own, BTW). It’s a very handy tote though, with two side pockets for anything you need. Read the rest of this entry »

This has been out for awhile, so I’m a bit off the ball here. This is the big GWP tote and boy, is it gorgeous! The tote itself is a navy and white patent stripey tote, very beach-inspired, with hot pink patent trim, to break it up. You also get a little pink pouch/wallet thingy, which is very good to have if you are using the tote for its intended purchase.

Before I get too much further, I must mention that this is free with a $32.50 purchase. Specifically, FOUNDATION or SKINCARE. That’s right. If you buy one of the new eye quads, no GWP. Honestly I am not a huge fan of that, but that’s business.

Anywhoo, you don’t get a whole lot on the colour front. You do get two lipsticks-Nectarine and Sugar Honey. The former of the two actually looks like a nice¬†lipstick to have! It’s definitely a case of having items that anyone can use, so that no choice is necessary. Then you get their “10 day supply” of Projectionist mascara. I haven’t tried that one, and I’m definitely interested to try it out.

Finally, you get your two skincare samples-Take It Away makeup remover and DayWear SPF 15 day cream.

Estee Lauder Online GWP

12 June, 2009

This one ends soon, but I figured I would post it while I had the chance! It’s over a $100 value, yours free with a $39.50 purchase! If you are tired of crappy GWP’s, this is the solution.

First, you choose your moisturizer. It’s a 14-day supply of the DayWear Plus (for preventing skin damage), Hydra Bright (for evening the skintone), Resilience Lift Extreme (for lifting and firming-this is only available with warm skintones), and Time Zone (anti-wrinkle, and only with cools).

Then you choose your colour palette: Warm or Cool. Each palette has a lipstick, a High Gloss, an 8-shadow eye palette (one eye quad and four singles), and a Double Wear shadow stick. The Warm palette has High Gloss in Honey, Pure Colour Crystal (my fave!) lipstick in Coral, Double-Wear Shadow Stick in Golden Peach, and then for the eye palette, Peach, Apricot, Chocolate, Praline, and the Amber Honey quad. The Cool palette has High Gloss in Rose, Pure Colour Crystal lipstick in Tiramisu, Double-Wear Shadow Stick in Pink Shell, and for the eye palette, Mulberry, Lavender, Sugar Cube, Berry Ice, and the Smokey Pink quad. Yes, it’s the tote gift! Every year, around Memorial Day, Macy’s and Lancome do a GWP that involves a tote. I have my tote from two years ago and totally love it. This year, the GWP is yours with a $29.50 purchase, and the tote itself, in your choice of blue or white, is a nautical-inspired tote with contrasting colour trim and totally cute.

Of course, you get the usual samples-eyeshadow quad, mascara, and eye makeup remover. The eyeshadow quad this time has Daylight, Dirty Pink, Bikini Golden, and Couture-a great quad for the summer. Bikini Golden is a really lovely shade, and Daylight is a great matte white highlight that isn’t too chalky. The eye makeup remover is also great, and this time the mascara is Hypnose-a great one to have if you get the GWP’s and want something besides Hypnose to try. Read the rest of this entry »

It’s Half-Yearly time…which means it’s GWP time for Clinique! We’ve got a Trina Turk-designed bag again, but this time it is a bright floral print on white with yellow trim. It also has her favourites for a well-polished look, and it’s free with a $25 purchase!

Of course, you get the usual skincare trials-Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion and Take The Day Off makeup remover. You get a half-ounce, so 1/2 size, of Superfit makeup, although I do not know which shade. You also get an eye duo-specially, Colour Surge duo in Sunburst. It looks to be close to full size, albeit in the old slider-style packaging that I saw so many eyeshadows of my mum’s in. Read the rest of this entry »

This one starts on the 15th, but I got the new Nordie’s mag, and here are the basic details!

When you spend $39.50 or more, you get his gift-which is a big one. You get two cosmetic bags-a big red-dotted with blue accents, and a smaller blue-dotted with red accents. You get the usual mascara and eye makeup remover samples, as well as a 10-days supply of the Advanced Night Repair serum.

Then you get to choose. You get your choice of one of four moisturizers-Hydra Bright, Time Zone, Daywear Plus, or Resillience Lift Extreme. You get your choice of one of two lipsticks, the shades that I do not know right now because it doesn’t start for another week. Finally, you get to choose your cheek/eye shades-a long palette with 6 eye shades and then a bronzer. The shades are all bronzey for the eyes, and you also get little applicators (that seem kinda questionable, but it works).

Finally, if you spend $75 or more, you get the Spring Sensation tote, a black tote with white trim and hot pink accents. Now THAT I could get behind!

This runs the 15th until the 3rd of May.

This one I just found out about from the Nordie’s mailer, so look for it instore very soon! This one has a $39.50 buy-in, which is an eyeshadow and a lipstick most of the time, so nothing too painful:) It’s your pretty standard GWP for the most part, except for a detail I will save for last.

Of course, you get your usual small guys-Definicils mascara, Bi-Facil eyemakeup remover, Renergie Microlift cream, and so forth. It’s always nice to have the little things of mascara because it can save you from immediately having to run out and buy a new tube for a couple weeks. I don’t use the skincare, but the eyemakeup remover is perfectly travel-sized and a little less than half of the full size. Read the rest of this entry »

(or The Bon, as us true Seattleites call it…)

As I was walking through the mall yesterday, I saw that Estee Lauder has a really nice GWP going on right now! It’s free with a $27.50 purchase, meaning that you can get all the swag for free if you buy, say, the illuminating powder.

The contents are pretty decent. You get two makeup bags-a large coral-orange and then a smaller light pink. I posted a piece awhile back about how you should never HAVE to pay for a makeup bag on its own, or at least not that much, and here you get two of the bags. Every set will include what they call the “10-day supply” of their new Sumptuous Bold Volume mascara, as well as a travel-sized thingy of eye makeup remover. Read the rest of this entry »
