New ULTA Ad: 18 April-9 May

18 April, 2010

Well this is the big Mum’s Day ad, with all sorts of fun exclusives! Also, if you’re a club member, it has your rewards certificate. I was only level 3 this time, but I’m gonna use it to get myself a nail polish. Hello, new Essie’s! My no-buy continues for two more weeks, though, but no worries!

Starting out, it’s the free tote with fragrance purchase-get a free faux-croc tote in one of 5 colours: pink, lime, sky blue, goldenrod, or white. I have to admit, I kinda like this-but these do tend to get marked down a few months later, so I can definitely wait. Heck, one of the local ones STILL has those hurricane jars from the winter. Anyways, the new ones featured are Beyonce’s Heat, Versace’s Versus, Bebe’s new self-titled EDP, Givenchy’s Ange ou Demon Le Secret, Bvlgari’s Blv II, and Escada’s Marine Groove. Marc Jacobs Lola isn’t technically new-it’s been out for almost a year. Sarah Jessica Parker also has her new SJP NYC, with fairly affordable prices (2 ounce is $49). Ralph Lauren has a summer edition of the Romance fragrance, at $78 for a 3.4 ounce jug-and with a $75 Romance purchase, you get a free tote and rollerball/lipgloss trio.

Of course, there are a lot of sets, and I will list them here:

Moving into the makeup, Eco Tools, ULTA brand, ULTA Professional, and Japonesque all have their brushes B1G1 50% off. Also all ULTA brand makeup-the cosmetics, tools, and minerals-are B1G1 free. Obviously not including the professional brushes or clearance, ditto on colour kits. L’Oreal mascaras and eyeshadows are 2/$10, L’Oreal lip colours and lipliners are 2/$12, and foundations and primers by them are 2/$16.Neutrogena, Palladio, Maybelline (face and lip), Revlon, Cover Girl, NYX, and Almay are all B2G1 free.

Yankee Candle has their fragrance of the month jars and tumblers B1G1 50% off, and they are Lavender Vanilla, Strawberry Buttercream, and Drift Away. I’m kinda enticed by the strawberry buttercream…I love me some buttercream, that’s for sure. On the theme of gifts, Crabtree/Evelyn products are 25% off, as are Vitabath and Earth Theraputics products. Ahava has a $19.50 gift set with body wash, lotion, hand cream, foot cream, and a loofah in a photo box-plus if you spend $30 in Ahava, you get a $30 value gift. Karen Neuberger has a $20 giftset of typical spa-ish things. There’s also now WoodWick candles, which feature an organic wood wick that is designed to crackle like a burning fire. If you make a purchase of $20 or more, you get a free 3.4 ounce Petal candle. I have to admit, I ought to try one of these out, see if they really work.

Finally, into the real good makeup:) Bare Minerals has a couple new things-5 new eyeshadows, 6 brand new Big & Bright eyeliners (retailing for only $14), and the new Flawless Definition Waterproof mascara. Next time I get a coupon that I can use on prestige stuff, I may have to get it-because my beloved Coup de Theatre does not come in waterproof. Fusion Beauty has a new trial pack for $24 of their Get Infatuated lip plumpers that actually help to boost natural lip fat, sans injections or any of that. Pop Beauty has brand new Petal Jams, which are a jelly-jar looking lip balm. At $14, I may have to try out the orange one. Studio Gear has a free brush roll with $25 purchase. Bourjois has something quite exciting-new mascara! It’s the Volume Glamour Ultra Care, and it’s $11.25 thanks to an introductory offer. It’s supposedly for sensitive eyes, and it coats with cotton and sweet almond oils. I may have to take a Coup de Theatre brush and use it for this…There is also Liner Fuetre for $12.75 which is a felt-tip black eyeliner.

Lorac has the Hollywood Hot List set, with three eyeshadows, a mini blush/bronzer duo, a liquid lipstick, and a travel size of the TANtalizer body bronzer for $29.50. (Gotta love Lorac sets) Urban Decay’s Smoke Out kits, which I had never previously seen at ULTA, are marked down to $20, and for Mum’s Day there is an exclusive face case with a blush, three eyeshadows, and three lipglosses for $14. For that price, it’s a steal! Too Faced has an ULTA-exclusive set for $38 with a lip bronzer, a Pink Leopard bronzer, an eyeshadow duo, and a mini face primer in a leopard-print clutch. CARGO has taken their 7 in 7 concept (7 products to get a full face in 7 minutes) and put it in a mini set. They have the One Base (tinted moisturizer), Essential Eye Palette, Eye Liner, Lash Activator, Beach Blush, Reverse Lip Liner, and the Classic Gloss, in little sizes of everything. Thankfully, the only thing that isn’t in its own tube/wand/etc is the eyeshadow palette. Pur Minerals has a free mini Marble Powder Bronzer with a $25 purchase, too.

Benefit has a deal in the Brow Bar-get any brow service of $20 or more, and get a free mini of BadGal mascara! Prices are actually decent-$20 for a brow arch or brow tweeze, $25 for brow and lip, $10 lip, $28 lip, chin, and side. Stila has new Smudge Stick eyeliners which promise the effect of the Smudge Pots, but in pencil form. They’re $20 each and come in 8 shades. Me? I’m still annoyed about missing out on the Barbie smudge pots, but oh well. The most exciting thing in this ad, by far, is the Napoleon Perdis Mum’s The Word kit. It has a full size Long Black mascara, deluxe sizes of two Divine Goddess lipsticks and Auto Pilot foundation primer, plus an eye/cheek palette. At $35, this is something that isn’t too out of reach, and you get a LOT. ULTA Professional nail polishes are 2/$10, and for a limited time, all Smashbox foundations are 20% off-plus you get a free mini of Photo Finish primer with your purchase.

CHI’s Sleek Spring flat irons are $20 off, so $130. I mean, as much of a yellow/orange lover I am, I don’t really use a flat iron, so this would be a huge waste for me, as much as I love it. I could go Hot Tools or even Zoe for a fraction of the price, and be just as fine. You do get a free thermal pouch/clutch with it, though-but still. Selected hair accessories, cosmetic bags, and Caboodles are 25% off. ULTA Smoothies are $10, and ULTA Bath, antibac, Body Whip, Swirl Cream, and Body Polish are B2G2 free.

Selected “gifts” are 20% off-women’s grooming tools (I do kinda want to try the Bliss groomer though), Karina, Satina, Floxlite, Conair, and Zoe mirrors. ULTA Minerals has a 6 piece kit for $15 with 4 shadows, a deluxe finishing powder, and a brush in a little travel box. There are some mini nail kits for $8, and Tweezerman products are 10% off. Burt’s Bees has a $13 Essential Body Kit. Selected sunglasses, NYX palettes, and Mytagalongs are 25% off.

Hot Tools flat irons are 20% off, Revlon and Remington have selected irons for $25, and Revlon has the usual $20 ceramic straightener with a free mini. Zoe’s design du joir is a hot pink base with a giant white gerbera daisy-$30 for a dryer or flat iron. All Ed Hardy styling tools are $20 off, as are selected Rusk appliances and CHI’s Black Pro dryer or ceramic 1″ flat iron. Hot Tools has new animal print flat irons and dryers for $50-and you get a free Gold 1″ curling iron with purchase of one. Hmm, decisions, decisions. I like the multicolour zebra stripe, personally. Speaking of Hot Tools-there are new Blue Ice Titanium curling irons for $40-your choice of a 3-barrel waver, a coil iron, a ribbon curler (I have the gold one of this), or a spiral curler. Conair’s Infiniti Wand styler is $40 (a clamp-free curler), Bed Head’s Dual Styler or Deep Waver are $25, and selected Hot Tools irons are 20% off. Speaking of which, too many dryers to mention are on sale.

Finally, in skincare, Boscia has a 3 step regimen for nourished, protected, and matte skin that is only $19. May have to give it a try…Mario Badescu has a deluxe sample of the Seaweed Night Cream with any purchase. There’s a brand new “as seen on TV” cream called Hydroxatone, which is science AND rejuvenation in one. With any purchase, you get a free sample of the undereye treatment, which doesn’t sound too bad at all. Selected stores are carrying some of the Philosophy fragrances-however all stores have the $35 Amazing Grace mini layering set and the $49.50 deluxe set.

Exuviance has a sample collection free with any purchase, and Murad has a free sample of the Anti-Aging Acne treatment with any purchase. Peter Thomas Roth, meanwhile, has a free 4-shade sampler of the Un-Wrinkle foundation with any purchase. DDF has a free sample (worth $23) of the Oil-Free Moisturizing Dew with any purchase, while Strivectin has no freebie, but a $75 set with the Facial Sculpting Cream and the Neck Cream.

All ULTA brand suncare is B1G1 free, while Noxema, St. Ives, and Acne Free are B1G1 50% off. RoC Brilliance, Aveeno Ageless Vitality, Neutrogena Clinical, and Olay Pro-X sets are all $5 off. Nivea, Eucerin, Olay, and selected Neutrogena skincare is 15% off.

Onto haircare, where selected haircare is B1G1 50% off. Clairol’s Perfect 10 haircolour is $9, L’Oreal Excellence is $7, and L’Oreal Everpure/Everstrong haircare is $6. Burt’s Bees hair value packs are $13, while skincare value packs are $25. Nexxus Humectress bonus packs, meanwhile, are $8. For curly/wavy hair, there’s the brand new Hair Rules line, and with a $25 purchase you get a free 2 ounce of the hydrating finishing cream. Oscar Blandi has a new volumizing dry shampoo spray, which goes on clear and helps add volume. You also get a free Lacca hairspray mini with purchase of the new dry shampoo. Ojon has a free duo of the Ultra Hydrating shampoo and conditioner with any two Intensive Repair purchases, while Fekkai has a free mini of the Ironless Straightening Balm with any two Fekkai purchases. Joico has a $25 bag with 10.1 ounce sizes of shampoo and conditioner and the 5.1 ounce Reconstructor, in your choice of K-Pak or Colour Endure. Kenra has a duo for $22 of 1.5 ounce root lifting spray and 16 ounces of volume spray, while selected CHI duos are $20. Deva Curl, meanwhile, has a free 3 ounce of No Poo Cleanser with a $20 purchase. Finally, on B2G1 free, you have Redken, Sexy Hair, Nioxin, Graham Webb, Alterna, and KMS.

Oh, we can’t forget the nails-B2G1 free on Essie, OPI, China Glaze, Orly, and other brands I could care less about.

Finally, from the 18th through the 9th, you get $5 in ULTAmate cash for every $20 you spend-and you can redeem it the week of the 10th through the 15th, $5 on every $20 spent. The new Essies are indeed at ULTA, and I am getting Turquoise & Caicos ASAP.
