New ULTA Ad: 21 Feb-13 March
23 February, 2010
Sorry this is so late, my energy has been pretty much nonexistent lately. Alas, here are the new deals!
For those of you who are ULTA club members, this is when you get your rewards certificate. I could have SWORN I was at least at level 6 but nope, only level 5 for me:( On the cover, we have B2G2free on Matrix haircare. Going inside, there is more haircare stuff. Redken has a free mini hairspray with full-sized hairspray purchase, limit four. Oscar Blandi has an Every Other Day set for $48, with volumizing shampoo, conditioner (8.4 ounces for those), and then dry shampoo spray (3.2 ounces). The set is designed so that you can notice the benefits of only washing your hair every other day, and I think that’s awesome. Sexy Hair, Nioxin, and Tigi are all B2G2free, like Matrix.
Onto budget makeup, Revlon, Almay, and Maybelline are all B2G1 free, and L’Oreal Studio Secrets and LA Splash are B1G1 50% off. In ULTA cosmetics, there are 17 new nail polishes, 2 new mascaras, 12 new Kiss/Tell lipglosses, and 12 new Extreme Wear lipcolours. There’s also a GWP-when you spend $17.50 in ULTA cosmetics, minerals, implements, and tools (excludes Professional, Colour Kits, and mineral kits), you can get one of three colour collections: Tiger Lily (warm), Luscious Peonies (cool), and Exotic Orchid (trend). Now let me tell you-I would be tempted to go for the trend set, just for the mirror and nail polish and so forth. You get a makeup bag, 4 brushes (all which look pretty craptastic), an eyeliner, a lipstick, a bronzer, a blusher, a double-ended lipgloss, two shadow quads, two nail polishes, and a mirror. The Trend has a quad that looks sorta similar to my CARGO Tahiti quad, and the nail polishes? Yellow and royal blue. Finally moving into real good makeup, Bare Minerals has a couple semi-new things. One of them, for $29, is a buffing brush pre-loaded with the Matte foundation. The other, for $28, is a Rare Minerals “triple treatment” eye cream, designed to restore firmness, reduce puffiness, and diminish the look of lines. Lorac has a Red Carpet Reveal palette for $35, which has three “colour coordinated” eyeshadows, as well as a blush. It doesn’t look interesting, as it’s all fairly neutral, but this is a very commercial product. You also get a deluxe sample of the Behind The Scenes shadow primer with any Lorac purchase, too. Smashbox has a new Hyperlash mascara, which for now is an ULTA exclusive. It’s $21, so it’s kind of passed my personal “inexpensive” threshold, but I may be interested in trying it to see how similar it is to my beloved Coup de Theatre. Benefit has the new Confessions of a Concealaholic kit for $36, which features a mini tube of That Gal, a mini of Erase Paste, plus Lemon-Aid, Boi-Ing, Eye Bright, and then two brushes. Urban Decay has the usual new spring stuff-the finishing powder, the Stardust shadows, and the four new 24/7’s. Stila has a bejeweled Lip Glaze trio for $32, and Pur Minerals has a new starter kit for $37 that has the chisel brush, the Pink marble powder, a mineral glow, and the 4/1 pressed makeup. Additionally, you get a free utility brush with any purchase.
In skincare, Dermalogica not only has a Clean Start Pre-Pack for $44 (with Wash Off, Welcome Matte, and All Over Clear), but also a Clean Start treatment in the salon for $25, perfect for those who are just getting started in skincare. Peter Thomas Roth has a new product which I think many will go crazy for-it’s called Brows To Die For, and it helps to enhance the appearance of sparse brows. Basically, it may help if you overplucked. It is $85-PTR isn’t cheap-but you also get a deluxe sample of Un-Wrinkle with any purchase. Murad has the 30-Day Acne Complex kit for $36, and you also get a free sample of Skin Perfecting Lotion with any purchase.
OPI still has the Hong Kong debaucle, but with a $17 or more purchase you get a free mini set that has the Rapidry topcoat, OPI Ink, and Rosy Future. I hate OPI minis as much as the next person, but it’s still polish after all:) ULTA bath products and smoothies, as well as antibacs, are B1G1free. Ahava has new botanical shower gels, and you get a free eco-shopper with purchase. Some of the fragrances include Bamboo/Pansy, Lotus/Chestnut, and Hibiscus/Fig. Yes, these are interesting.
Neutrogena and Aveeno are attempting to toss their hats into the ring as far as clinical skincare goes, and Olay has 15% off everything. Selected “skincare” is 15% off, including Dr. Bronner’s, Alba, Avalon Organics, and more.
Tresemme has new Fresh Start shampoos, which are designed for skipping shampoos. There’s a waterless foam, perfect if you have curly/dry hair, or the dry shampoo spray, which is for more oily hair. All Tresemme, as well as L’Oreal Vive Pro and L’Oreal Kids, are B1G150% off. Pantene, Clairol haircolour, John Frieda, and Nexxus are also 15% off.
Ultra CHI 1″ shimmer flat irons are $100, and as a bonus, they’ll toss in a free thermal mat. Selected Hot Tools flat irons and dryers are $30, and FHI and Rusk have selected appliances for $80. CHI’s pro dryer and Sedu’s 1.5″ flat iron are $110, Conair’s Infiniti Teal dryer or Remington’s “Wet 2…” irons are $25 and Revlon has the Total Styler dryer or Perfect Heat straightener set for $20. Zoe also has the Paisley design flat iron for $30. All Hot Tools curling irons are 20% off, the Hot Tools crimper and 3-barrel waver are $30 each, and Revlon and Conair have even more $13 stylers. For $20, Revlon has their 3-barrel waver and hot air stylers, plus Conair has the More Big Curls hair setter. Selected hairbrushes, including Ed Hardy, are 25% off. Finally, selected cosmetic bags, hair accessories, and sunglasses are 25% off.
