New ULTA Ad (4-24 October)
1 October, 2009
Alrighty folks, it’s October, and you know what that means-pink EVERYTHING, in honour of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. At all stores, there are two special things that you get with a donation. For a $1 donation, you get entered into winning a $500 value Beauty Bag, and there is one winner per store. For every ten dollar donation, you get your choice of a baseball hat, or a pink scarf. If you don’t want the hat or scarf, all $10 goes to the BCRF (Breast Cancer Reseach Foundation), whereas if you get one $7.50 still goes. On the beauty bag, 100% of donations go to the BCRF. What you can also do is share, in letter form, your experiences if you or someone you know has been affected by breast cancer, and they will post it in the store windows. Many brands are doing BCA Month or pink stuff, and there are plenty of deals. Kenra has a pink-wrapped bottle of their hairspray for $15, all cosmetic bags and Caboodles are 25% off (including pink cases), Japonesque brushes are B1G1 50% off, Earth Theraputics are 25% off, and both Ulta Bath/Smoothies (including an LE Pink Champagne scent) and OPI polishes are B2G1 free.
CHI has a pink 1″ ceramic flat iron for $120, and you get a free Silk Infusion (2 ounce) and 44 Iron Guard (8.5 ounce) with purchase of that iron. All Pink Titanium Hot Tools styling appliances are 20% off, with the coordinating brushes 25% off, and Wigo’s pink 1″ flat iron and dryer are $30 each. There is the BaByliss flat iron, which looks to have crystals on the handle, for $100 (in a case), and Conair has the YouStyle curl/straight iron for $30. All FHI appliances are $20 off, and a new Zoe flat iron (pink with white stars) is $30. Yankee Candle has a BCA jar candle, in mandarin cranberry scent, for $15, and Fragrance of the Month jars (Cranberry Chutney, Buttercream, Spiced Pumpkin) B1G1 50% off. All Brookstone stuff is 15% off. In low-end beauty, NYX, Nutra Nail, Borghese, Prestive, Maybelline, and Neutrogena are all B1G1 50% off. All Revlon Colourstay, L’Oreal lip/HiP, and ULTA lip, eye, nail, and beauty tools are B1G1 free. L’Oreal’s Extreme Volume Collagen mascara, ULTA’s Fabulous Face foundation/Minerals Loose Powder, and Sally Hansen nail art pens are $6 each.

Kinerase has a kit, for $95 as well, that is designed to repair and moisturize aging skin, and it has a daily cleanser, an intensive treatment, and day/night creams. You also get a sample of the PhotoFacials Sun Damage Reversal System with any Kinerase purchase. Dermalogica has travel-sized products free with specific things-a mini Skin Prep Scrub with Special Cleansing Gel purchase, and a mini Active Moist with full sized Active Moist purchase. There’s also an Age Smart kit for $50, and with the ad, you can get a Dermalogica treatment in the ULTA Salon for only $30. Cosmedicine has a free sample of their dark circle treatment with purchase, and Clarisonic has their Pink brush for $195.

Rimmel has a free jar of eye makeup remover with a $10 purchase.
All Redken is B2G1 free, while Nioxin, Tigi, and Matrix are B2G2 free. There’s a new hair line called Kim Vo, which is a mix of French technology and Asian botanicals, and if you purchase a shampoo and conditioner, you get a free 1.8 ounce styling cream. Ojon has Ritual Trios for $33, and Jonathan Product has a free Root Lift with a $25 purchase, excluding travel sizes. Paul Mitchell, Joico, L’Oreal Professional, ARTec, and Goldwell are B2G1 free. On the note of hair, Jessica Simpson has launched two more products in her Hairdo line-a wrap-around ponytail and a clip-in set of bangs. All styling brushes, combs, and hair accessories are 25% off, and CHI has the new Ultra Blue Sparkle 1″ iron for $130. The InStyler is now at ULTA, and it retails for $100.
Moving onto fragrance, there’s the new Michael Kors (Very Hollywood, which was quite weak), Marc Jacobs Lola (which I liked), and then limited-edition Snow Bunny bottles for the Harajuku lovers fragrances. Armani has the Idole d’Armani, too.
Finally we’re in prestige cosmetics, and there’s lots of freebies. You can get a free Too Faced Mini Pinpoint Lash Injection mascara with any purchase, a free Pur Minerals powder brush with $25 purchase, a free Cargo Reverse Lip Liner with a Classic Lipgloss purchase, and a free Couture Shine liquid lipstick mini with a LORAC purchase. On the note of new things, there’s a LORAC set for $42 which has full-sizes galore: Black Lotsa Lash mascara, Couture Shine liquid lipstick in the Glam shade, Velvet Rope blush, Starlet baked shadow trio, and a dual-ended liner/shadow brush, all in a purple clutch. Bourjois has the Black/White kohl pencil and the Coup de Theatre mascara in a set for $25. Napoleon Perdis FINALLY has the Divine Marchesa stuff, although I don’t think they’re getting the Black Sapphire polish (guess I have to online order that one). With a purchase of Boudoir Mist foundation or the shadow quad, you get TWO Lip Couture glosses, which is a $41 value. Yes, full-size. Sign me up for that quad, please.
Tweezrman is 10% off, and of course they have a BCA tweezer. Pop Beauty has the new Lash Wow mascara, with a double-sided comb. I’m actually pretty interested in that, to be honest. You also get a free sample of Eye Magnet primer with any Pop Beauty purchase. Studio Gear has a free Pocket Eyeliner with a $25 purchase. Benefit has a deluxe PosieTint sample with any purchase, and Stila has a travel size of their Major Lash mascara with a $20 purchase. The final new things in prestige? The new UD shadow boxes, namely the Book of Shadows 2 (with genie bottle of UDPP and mini 24/7’s in Zero and Bourbon), and the Show Pony (with mini genie bottle and Zero liner). You also get to choose a free mini 24/7 liner with your $25 or more purchase.
Finally, on the back…yep, another blockbuster. (Snooze) This one is set up like a traincase (I’d buy it for the case, and then give the girls at the church the goods), and you have 32 shadows, 12 lip colours, 6 cheek colours, 4 lipsticks, 2 mini glosses, 2 pot-form glosses, 2 shimmer powders, 2 eye quads, 2 concealers, 2 dual-ended eyeliners, 2 brushes, and lots of applicators-it’s yours for $25, or $20 if you use the $5 off $10 coupon (which for me will be used for some OPI, nom nom nom).
