New MAC Collections Online!
10 September, 2009
Alrighty, the deluge continues, and we have two all-new (somewhat) collections for your viewing pleasure! They definitely fit the whole capsule collection thing MAC is going for to a T (actual themed collections for things rather than concepts), and one of them promises one thing I love-value!
First up, we have In High Def, which is a repromote of the Face/Body foundation as well as MSFN, with two brushes. However, there are four lipsticks vying for your attention: Resolutely Red (a claret red and a lustre), Close to Real (a light neutral peach pink, also a lustre), High Def (a midtone neutral coral and an amplified), and Sharp Focus (a deep brown plum and what else…oh yeah, lustre). Resolutely Red looks nice, like a darker version of Cockney, and High Def could be great as it has a great finish to it. The whole idea of this collection is to promote two foundations, along with brushes (187 and 188) as a way to get that camera-ready face, along with lipsticks to match.
The other collection may be an online exclusive, and it’s called Upstarts, and it features three value packs in clear zippered bags. The first set, which is Lined & Lashed, has full-sizes of Zoomlash and Prep/Prime Lash, along with minis of Night Sky Softsparkle and Pro Eye Makeup Remover, for $27 in a case. The second, which is Well Prepared, is your skincare kit, with Prep/Prime Skin and the Prep/Prime finishing powder, along with minis of Fix+ and Cleanse Off Oil, for $47. Finally, you have the Flawless set for $56.50, which has Mineralize Satinfinish in your shade, along with a full-size Soft & Gentle MSF, and minis of Cleanse Off Oil Tranquil and Charged Water-Revitalizing Energy. I am definitely feeling the little sizes, although I know they will end up at the CCO sooner or later. Honestly though, MAC is really doing it right when it comes to the fall stuff. They had the M-A-C collection, which was three artists’ interpretations. They had Nail Trend, which was nail polishes, and Flirt With Fall, which was lashes. Upstarts is great for the value, and In High Def is great to show current items with a few LE ones. The upcoming Fall Trend is a small collection designed to show key products for the fall, and Style Black is as the name implies. Dsquared is the annual designer collaboration-so everything clearly has a purpose, and I like that. Can’t get enough, to be honest-but then I’d be broker than what I already am! Ha!
Next collection comes in two weeks-Style Black-and I will be hitting that up HARD!
