Tutorial: Smoked Out

4 August, 2009

By request, I have done a tutorial of Friday’s smokey eye look. It’s fairly easy, and you can duplicate it if you don’t have the specific products needed! It’s a fairly low-product look, and I did add two things from Friday’s version. Enjoy!

Step 1

Step 1

Step 1: Apply Bare Minerals Skyline (a dark lilac-toned grey) to the outer third of the eyelid using a 226 or 231 brush.

Step 2

Step 2

Step 2: Apply Silver Fog (a bright metallic silver) to the other parts of the eyelid.

Step 3

Step 3

Step 3: Apply Urban Decay’s Zero eyeshadow (a rich black) as a lower liner with the flat end of a 231.

Step 4

Step 4

Step 4: Using the 226, bring Zero into the crease and up from the lower line so that it extends out.

Step 5

Step 5

Step 5: Use a 217 to apply Rose Blanc (an off-white with yellow tones; you can use whichever highlight you want) from the crease to the brow.

Step 6

Step 6

 Step 6: Blend well.

Step 6

Step 7

Step 7: Apply Estee Lauder’s More than Mascara and then line the waterline with Urban Decay’s Zero eyeliner (a black kohl-style liner).

Step 8

Step 8

Step 8: Use a 181 to apply bronzer (I use Solar Riche) lightly over the face, and use a blush brush to apply On A Mission (a sheer neutral plum) on the cheekbone.

Step 9

Step 9

Step 9: Use a 217 to apply Silver Dusk (a loose white-silver shimmer powder) on the nose and underneath the brows, and use the blush brush to apply the powder on the cheeks.

Step 10

Step 10

Step 10: Finish with a coat of Pink Manish on the lips.

Voila, finished! It’s not the greatest tutorial, as I can’t do videos, but it’s a way to get it to be workable. It’s not the greatest smokey eye, but I’ll get there. Someday!
