New ULTA Ad (21 March-11 April)-Spring Beauty Event
19 March, 2009
My new ad just came in the mail today, and I gotta pass on the details to you! The Spring Beauty Event is coming up, where representatives from the prestige brands will be giving makeovers and you’ll get to try new products.
On the cover, all cosmetic bags are 30% off, except clearance. The first brand we hear about is Bare Minerals, with events on the 21st, 28th, 3rd, 4th, 10th, and 11th. With any purchase of Bare Minerals, you get a free deluxe lip gloss sample, and there are some new things. Sun-Proof Fun is a set of four neutral beachy shadows with SPF 20, and it’s $28 for the set. Also $28 is a Bronzed & Gorgeous set, which has a two-well all over face colour (bronzey shades), a lip gloss, and then a fan brush.
Next up is Stila, Too Faced, and Urban Decay. Stila has 4 events-the 22nd, 28th, 29th, and 18th, and the new set is Shimmer & Shine. For $35, you get Serenade long-wear lip colour, Multi-Effect mascara, Kalohoo and Nanda Devi eyeshadows, and Rose Gold finishing powder. I’m not too familiar with Stila, however $35 is a pretty damn good deal considering it’s over a $100 value. Too Faced has four events as well-the 21st, 23rd, 3rd, and 5th-and when you spend $50 you get a three piece gift. The main set is $29.50, and it’s a metallic pink clutch with smal sizes of one of the Starry Liners, Lash Injection mascara, Lip Injection plumper, Shadow Insurance primer, and then Totally Toasted eyeshadow duo and a Lava Gloss eyeliner. Urban Decay has 6 events-28th, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 10th, and 11th-and with any UD purchase you get a deluxe sample of lipstick.
LORAC has 4 events-the 21st, 31st, 4th, and 9th, and their main thing is the Backstage Tips/Tricks set. You get Sheer Wash tint in Sheer Magic (a cheek/lip tint), Rich & Famous On-Screen Duo (probably eyes), Publicity Stunt mascara in a black, and Award Show Glow firming bronzing body mousse. Smashbox has 5-21st, 27th, 29th, 3rd, and 11th-and with a purchase of $25 or more you get a free Mini Soft Lights fusion in Dusk. I love the Soft Lights myself, so this is a good deal. There are two new sets-first, Gloss & Go, a set of 8 mini lip glosses. Perfect for in the pocket if you don’t want to tote one in your purse. Then there is the Runway Glam kit, which is $47, and has a Double Decker eye palette (eye shadows and then creme liners) a blush and Soft Lights duo, a double-ended lip gloss, a travel size of Photo Finish primer, and then an angled blush brush.
Bourjois has a brand new Liner Effect mascara that is an ULTA exclusive, and there’s a nice range of shades. The two events are on the 24th and 29th. Amazing Cosmetics has a deal where if you buy any concealer, you get a free makeup bag and powder set. The two events are the 25th and the 4th. Studio Gear has 4 events-the 27th, 1st, 7th, and 11th-and if you buy the Prime Objective face primer you get a free sample of shadow primer. Pop Beauty sadly only has one event-the 10th-but they have a value set as well. For $29.50, you get the Little Black Dress kit, Minty Goodnight Kiss lipgloss, Eye Magnet primer, Liner Creator (a bottle of gold stuff), and then a duo-ended brush, all with a cute gold clutch. Pur Minerals has a few events-the 22nd, 26th, 27th, 29th, and 10th-and when you buy the 4/1 pressed powder you get a free chisel brush. Sue Devitt has no events, however when you buy the 70% Triple Seaweed Gel foundation you et a free deluxe size of the fortifying primer. Finally, we have my man Napoleon Perdis with 3 events-24th, 28th, and 11th-and you get a free Protege lip gloss when you buy the Auto Pilot foundation primer.
Now onto the B1G1 50% off-it’s OPI time! Also China Glaze, Piggy Polish, and Orly polishes are on that deal as well. Most suncare is as well, which is good because I am almost out of my tanning oil (Hawaiian Tropic dual-formula oil spray).
ULTA brand and ULTA Minerals lip, eye, and nail items are B1G1 free, as are all ULTA sun products and ULTA hair. ULTA Bath and Smoothies are B2G1 free, and there are two new ULTA bath scents-Citrus Green Tea and Sugared Lychee. There’s also new anti-bacterial, which I should try.
More B1G1 free-all Revlon eye, lip, and nail products, as well as beauty tools, as well as L’Oreal lip stuff and L’Oreal HiP. When you buy a L’Oreal foundation, you get a free blush, powder, or concealer. On B2G1 free, there’s Japonesque brushes/tools, Neutrogena makeup, Almay, Palladio (Huh? Never heard of that brand), Maybelline, and Bonne Bell.
Now moving on past perfumes (no interesting deals this time) onto skincare. DDF has an event on the 26th, and when you make a purchase of $40 or more you get a free deluxe sample as well as a mirrored cosmetic case. Kinerase has four events-22nd, 25th, 31st, and 6th-and you get a free sample with consultation, as well as a free tote if you get the $135 Fun in the Sun kit-a full size of the gentle daily cleanser, daily defence cream, intensive eye cream, and a small size of the C8 peptide. Dermalogica experts will be there every weekend to perform face mapping analysis of your face, to determine what products you need and give you some samples. They have multiple kits, but I honestly wouldn’t use any because the normal/oily has toner, and I don’t use or believe in toner. MD Skincare has free samples with consultation-the event is the 7th. Go Smile has free consultations every day now and a new $89 kit for rapid whitening. Fusion Beauty will be there on the 29th and when you make any Fusion Beauty purchase you get a free deluxe Lip Fusion sample. Peter Thomas Roth will be there on the 23rd, and when you make any purchase you get a free Un-Wrinkle deluxe sample. Anastasia will be there on the 2nd, and Elizabeth Arden on the 9th. Exuviance is apparently a brand that is okay for sensitive skin, but then again, they have toner. Evil…they have 4 dates: 22nd, 3rd, 5th, and 10th. Murad has 5 dates-the 21st, 27th, 28th, 4th, and 11th, and the neat thing is that the 22nd through 28th is the Skin Scanner event where your skin is UV-scanned to reveal the damage done by everyday life. You’ll learn about the brand, as well as get a sample of the SPF 15 oil-free sunblock.
As far as hair tools go, the best deal is the Hot Tools 1/2″ mini straightener for $20. TIGI has a new line coming out called Rockaholic, and when you buy any Rockaholic item you get a free TIGI item. There is a dry shampoo with this, which definitely interests me. There are some shampoos B2G1 free, but nothing particularly interesting to write home about.
Finally, selected at-home haircare is B1G1 50% off. Sadly, not the Fekkai.
