New ULTA Ad (1-14 March)

26 February, 2009

So this is a mainly haircare ad, and if you are needing stuff, you might be pleased at the sales-starting on the cover, with B2G2 free on all Matrix haircare. Many other brands have that same sale going on their products, including Sexy Hair, Tigi, and Nioxin. Sebastian hairsprays are $10 each-limit 4 per client-and if you purchase the Shaper or Reshaper hairsprays, you also get a little guy free! How cool is that?

One new thing that ULTA has is Liquid Keratin. Keratin treatments are all the rage with people trying to make their wavy, frizzy, curly hair become straight and silky. The starter kit is $69, and you get a shampoo, conditioner, leave-in conditioner, shine serum, and then a treatment. If you are needing a hair dryer, many dryers are on sale right now. Ken Paves (Jessica Simpson’s hair guy) actually endorses the basic ULTA brand one though-because it gets the job done, and you don’t need a professional dryer, as it will wreak havoc on the hair.

One good deal is a Conair hot roller set for $20. I am looking at wanting to get hot rollers eventually, and it seems like a good deal. Also Hot Tools gold curling irons are $28, and other styling tools are $32.

Moving onto makeup and other sales! Lots of B1G1 free, including Revlon face products, L’Oreal HiP, L’Oreal lip products, Almay face and eye stuff, most ULTA Bath stuff, and more. In the $4 sale department, there are Back to Basics shampoos and conditioners, L’Oreal Voluminous or Telescopic mascaras, China Glaze nail lacquers, Creative Nail Design hand/body lotions, and Almay eye makeup remover pads. I am definitely interested in a China Glaze lacquer or two, and I have to look at those Back to Basics shampoos.

A really good deal to me is the Tresemme haircare being B1G1 50% off. They have this new 24 Hour Body line, which I may have to check out as well, especially the spray gel. A lot of skincare, including Aveeno, Neutrogena, L’Oreal, and Olay is 15% off, as is Pantene haircare, John Frieda haircare, and Clairol haircolour.

All OPI polishes are B1G1 50% off, which is a sale that I may take advantage of should I get the $$$ from my mum. Also all Cover Girl is BOGO. I personally do not like that brand, but hey, it’s a good way to stock up on Lash Blast if you subscribe to that. All L’Oreal eye cosmetics are BOGO as well.

Ahava is a bodycare line that uses a lot of Dead Sea minerals and such-it’s a more natural line than many bodycare lines out there. When you buy one of their new Botanic shower gels (which are paraben free), you get an eco-shopper tote.

Dermalogica, which is a bigtime skincare brand, has a new line called Clean Start, which is intended for teenage skin. The names of the products put the tired names of True Blue Spa products to shame-we have Welcome Matte, Bedtime for Breakouts, Smart Mouth, Lighten Up, and more. The 8 products are:
Welcome Matte-An SPF 15 moisturizer with oil controllers.
All-Over Clear-I am guessing a toner spray, you spray it on to stop breakouts.
Wash Off-a foam face wash for face AND body…aka bacne.
Smart Mouth-a protective lip shine
Hit The Spot-an acne spot treatment
Ready, Set, Scrub!-a scrub designed to not only refine skin but to help fight breakouts
Bedtime For Breakouts-a PM moisturizer designed to help calm skin, clear up acne, and so forth.
Lighten Up-an SPF 15 moisturizer with a hint of shimmer.

When you spend $50 in this new line, you get a free backpack as well.

Now how do you like Urban Decay exclusives? Well ULTA has two. First up, for $22, is an XL size of Primer Potion with 60% more product. Then for $24, it’s a duo with FULL-SIZES of Zero and Bourbon eyeliners. I have been needing to get a full-size of Zero anyways (I will do a review on Zero eventually), so this is something to think about.

Too Faced has a mini pink leopard bronzer for $12.50-which for many people is the perfect size. I also like how there is the pink in there.

Pur Minerals has a $35 starter set, with a flat-top buffer brush, an SPF 15 pressed powder, a “mineral glow”, and then a marbled powder. When you make any purchase in the Pur Minerals like, you get a free “utility brush” which actually looks really good.

Smashbox has some of the new “O” products-two, to be exact. There is O-Plump, which is a lip plumper, and then O-Bronze, a cheek bronzer. The technology of the “O” products is that they are intuitive, meaning that they react with your body chemistry to produce the perfect flushed shade for you (it’s easy to see where the “O” comes from…not like I condone that). O-Plump is $24, while O-Bronze is $26.

Finally, when you make any purchase of $17.50 or more in ULTA brand makeup (even the professional brushes), you get a big GWP. There’s a 4-piece travel brush set (which honestly looks questionable), two lipsticks, two mini nail polishes, a mini lipgloss, a lip/eye pencil, a face powder, an eyeshadow quad, a travel bottle of eye makeup remover, and a little clutch. The clutch is cute, don’t get me wrong-but most of the makeup looks to be not up to my quality standards. It would be good to give a teenager so that she has something to practice with-but I wouldn’t use it myself.

Oh yeah, there’s the choice of warm or cool, too.
