New ULTA Ad (4-17 January)
3 January, 2009
So I just got my ULTA ad in the mail a couple minutes ago, and boy, are there deals and other fun things!
One of the big ones is B2G2 free, MIX AND MATCH on all ULTA brand products-haircare, bodycare, makeup, and even the professional brushes. There are also several B2G2 deals on other brands, including the Almay Pure Blends, which I did a blurb about a while back. The nice thing is they put right on the package what percentage of the product is natural-the finishing powder? 98.2%. Same with the blush. It also looks like many other lower-end brands are getting in on it, including Physician’s Formula, which now has Organic Wear. I haven’t used a whole lot from them, however they used to have some stuff with REALLY cute packaging, and I have an orange loose powder shadow from them that I love to death.
There’s also the B1G1 50% off-which has Essie as a part of it. Also Sally Hansen now has Natural Beauty, which is a line inspired by Carmindy, the makeup artist on What Not To Wear. It looks to be more of the natural beauty, meaning a natural look…simple eyes, a light blush, and then a neutral lip, as opposed to natural products. There’s CoverGirl in that deal, and while I refuse to wear CoverGirl, it does include the new foundation with Olay products included-which has Ellen Degeneres as the face of that.
In prestige, there are a few fun things. Too Faced has a new palette, with all sors of things…it looks like 5 or 6 shadows, brow powder, liner, 3 lip things, bronzer, and blush. It’s $29.50, and inspired by the movie “Confessions of a Shopaholic”. Also there is the supersize of Smashbox Photo Finish primer-it’s 2 ounces of the stuff for $49-a $72 value. If you can’t get enough of UDPP, fear not, for there is the duo. Two packages for $26!
New perfumes include an Ed Hardy one-Love & Luck. There are both men’s and women’s perfumes, and I am interested in giving this a chance, because the other Ed Hardy perfume was a disappointment to me. There’s also Viva La Juicy, which was one that I asked for in rollerball form for Christmas (and did not get). I wasn’t a fan of the original Juicy Couture due to our least favourite fragrance note…the patchouli. BLECH!
Onto haircare. Many brands have B2G2, including Matrix, Redken, and Tigi. Brands that have their products on B2G1 include Paul Mitchell, Joico, and Sexy Hair. I am actually thinking of switching to BigSexyHair, because I love the big 80’s hair but toned down. Also, John Frieda haircare is 15% off, as is Olay skincare. L’Oreal Vive Pro and Garnier Fructis shampoos and conditioners are $3 a bottle. In the appliance category, the Ultra CHI red dryer or 1″ iron are $40 off, and the rest of CHI is $20 off…so a good deal if you’re looking to get an iron or a hairdryer. Also, the Hot Tools 1/2″ mini iron is $20-and adorable, to boot. Too bad I don’t use straighteners on my hair.
All Hot Tools curling irons are also $29, and the Ceramic Ti flat irons are $40.
Finally, there are many pages of coupons. The best ones include 25% off Caboodles traincases, 25% off Ardell lashes, and BOGO on Revlon beauty tools. There’s also a 25% off NYX coupon-and a lot of people consider NYX to be a cheaper version of MAC.
All in all the sales aren’t the greatest, but there is always good stuff to be found, and the best part is the clearance-selected items are up to 85% off. You can get Essie polishes sometimes for $3 and OPI for $4 (clearance shades), and if you dig hard enough, you can occasionally find an Urban Decay piece or two. Too bad the Jaqua sets aren’t holiday only, because I am wanting that shower cream set STAT.
